Croatia | Trogir
We stopped by the ancient Roman ruins of Salona on our way to Trogir, a historic and harbor town on the Dalmatia coast. Trogir is on a very small island which one can only navigate by foot. The culture and architecture was heavily influenced by the Greeks, Romans, and Venetians. Afterwards, we had lunch at a small family owned restaurant that overlooked the vineyards of Primosten. We did a taste testing of Grappa which is like a grape based brandy containing 30-60% alcohol content. We ate Peka, a traditional Croatian dish. It is a blend of vegetables & meat drizzled with olive oil, herbs, and baked to perfection under a bell-like dome. It's a tradition for Croatians cook peka in the fireplaces in their home. We ended the day a swim in the beautiful Adriatic sea and caught the sunset on our way back to Split. Another Sunday funday for the books. Shout out to Mario for accompanying us and showing us his hometown.
